From the time she was a little girl cammi granato dreamed of winning an olympic gold medal. The only girl playing hockey a boys-only game cammi was often singled out and hurt by players on opposing teams. She would not quit though. After years of struggling to make her way in a men s sport cammi earned a hockey scholarship to attend providence where she led her team to two hockey championships. As captain of the very first united states women s hockey team in 1998 cammi became the first american woman to score a hockey goal in an olympics. She went on to lead her team to a gold medal and realized her dream.
