Our coconut-coir pad is a one inch mat made of coconut fiber coir infused with natural latex. The bed rug is porous and allows air circulation between the bottom of a mattress and a platform bed’s surface. It is strongly recommended for air under any mattress or futon on a solid-platform bed or for use as a breathable base for a traditional shikibuton futon mattress. Inadequate air circulation under a mattress can cause moisture buildup. A coconut-coir pad is an ideal as it provides air circulation allowing for a cooler sleep surface.
