Pond salt is formulated to increase koi and goldfish electrolytic intake. Electrolytes are critical in building healthy slime coat. Electrolytes such as potassium are essential in wound repair and in times of heavy stress such as during water changes or clean outs. Pond salt will also help ward off and get rid of the most common protozoan parasites found in a fishpond. Will not treat bacteria or fungi infection and is not a medication medicine but rather pure sea salt. Easy to use instant results. Routine maintenance and care -- without aquatic plants: use 2.5 Cups per 100 gallons of water. With aquatic plants: use 1.25 Cups per 100 gallons of water. Disease treatment: when treating for disease isolate fish in a separate tank treat in a separate tank container bucket or small pool with vigorous aeration for treatment and use 5 cups per 100 gallons. Remove fish immediately if fish shows any signs of stress. After bath immediately remove fish to a quarantine tank for 30 minutes to monitor. After 30 minutes be sure to acclimate the fish back into the pond water slowly to avoid shock.
