History aspects:the jagdpanzer 38 t more commonly known as the hetzer was introduced by nazi germany in 1944 as a lightweight cost-effective tank destroyer. The early version of the hetzer was based on the reliable chassis of the czech-built panzer 38 t and featured a compact sloped armor profile that gave it strong defensive qualities despite its smaller size. Armed with the powerful 75mm pak 39 l 48 anti-tank gun the hetzer packed a punch that could disable most allied tanks it encountered on the battlefield. Early models were produced rapidly emphasizing speed of manufacture and tactical agility on the battlefield.The hetzer saw its first significant deployment on the eastern front in mid-1944 where it was used in both defensive ambushes and counterattack roles.
