Developed by hawker aircraft in the late 1950s and early 1960s the p.1127 Was designed to demonstrate the feasibility of a v stol aircraft powered by the innovative rolls-royce pegasus engine. This engine directed thrust through rotating nozzles allowing the aircraft to transition from vertical lift to horizontal flight.
