The King With A Crown Over His Wig

This stunning androgynous portrait illuminates both the regality and delicate nature of the king of hearts, who is quite mild and even-tempered compared to his queen. A chessboard with hearts makes up the foreground of the image, while the king’s lungs appear as a garden of roses and leaves that eventually erupt into his chest. Twining through the vivid composition is a bright red thread, holding together the creatures of wonderland.
