History aspects:the bristol 192 belvedere was a british twin-engine tandem rotor helicopter designed by the bristol aeroplane company. Entering service in the early 1960s it was the royal air force’s first twin-rotor helicopter. The belvedere was initially developed for the royal navy as a transport and anti-submarine platform but its role shifted to tactical transport after a decision was made to equip the raf instead. The helicopter had the capability to carry up to 19 fully equipped troops or a variety of cargo loads including artillery pieces and vehicles making it a versatile asset for military operations.The belvedere saw combat during the indonesian confrontation in the mid-1960s where it was used by british forces for troop transport supply runs and casualty evacuation in the challenging terrain of borneo.
